Perth Self Drive - First trip to Perth, WA Australia

self drive, Perth

This is not our first overseas trip. Back in 2010 we started to travel with child when my eldest Yu Tze is 1 year old. But we tend to visit Asia countries like Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Seoul. Perhaps food and currency are the two main reasons why I am not visiting Australia.
November last year, my wife told me JetStarAsia had fared promotion and it costs less than S$300 for a return ticket to Perth. So I decided to grab this opportunity and visit this "boring' city. Many people told me Perth is a boring city and it had been planted in my mind for many years.

During the planning, I discovered that Perth has many attractions but mainly lighthouse, beach, park and museum. It really seem like a boring place.

Itinerary (Actual)
Day 1 - collect the car-> check in to room we reserved via airbnb - > Fremantle City
Day 2 - Caversham wildlife park -> Swam valley -> Perth City
Day 3 - Drive all the way down to Margaret River (Stop at Bunburry for lighthouse and lunch then check in to Sunflower farm before 4pm)
Day 4 - Enjoy the farm stay and travel to several Margaret River attractions
Day 5 - Drive back to Perth City (pass by Buselton Jetty)  Perth City

After the trip, I felt blessed and will definitely visit Australia again. My children enjoyed the trip as well. Perth is a great place for relaxing and scenery. Glad that we were self-drive and able to adjust our itinerary based on the time and weather condition.

Will share photos and travel experience in the next post.
